Chloe C. Hudson, PhD

Dr. Chloe Hudson (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Science area of the Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her PhD in Psychology at Queen's University, and completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Her research focuses on identifying the structure, functional outcomes, and malleability of mental state processing (also referred to as theory of mind or mentalization). Dr. Hudson's research has been supported by the Canadian Institute for Health Research and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

Rory is a graduate student in the Clinical Science concentration at Virginia Tech Department of Psychology. He received his Bachelor of Science from UCLA in psychobiology. He is interested in the intersection of cognitive and clinical psychology, specifically the role that individual variation in certain cognitive traits/abilities plays in mental illness.

Jessica (Jess) Kilmer (she/her/hers) is a second-year graduate student in the Clinical Science program at Virginia Tech. She received her Bachelor of Science from James Madison University in psychology. For 2 years, she studied social memory in rodent models at the UVA Center for Brain Immunology & Glia and worked clinically with adults with serious mental illness. She is interested in social memory and cognition in presentations of psychopathology. In her spare time she enjoys drawing, volunteering, and spending time with her husband & 2 cats.

Zoe earned her B.S. in psychology from Bridgewater College. She is especially interested in clinical psychology and enjoys researching mental health and well-being in young adults. Zoe hopes to pursue a PhD in psychology to keep exploring these topics. Outside of her studies, she likes hiking, making pottery, and finding new coffee shops.

Maya McPartland (she/her) graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Computer Science. She is interested in anxiety disorders, particularly social anxiety disorder, and the application of artificial intelligence and computational methods to mental health research. Maya plans to pursue a PhD in psychology. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, playing bass guitar, and birdwatching.
Hannah Young

Hannah Young is an undergraduate student who is in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She is a senior studying Biochemistry. Hannah is a pre-med student who has hopes of practicing psychiatry and has a special interest in mental health and the stigma surrounding it. In her free time, she is often seen on the field with the Marching Virginians where she is a member of the VTubas and participates as a Rank Captain.
Breanna Brooks

Breanna Brooks is a junior studying Psychology and Criminology. She is interested in the research and practice of clinical psychology and hopes to further pursue clinical research and a career in clinical practice by obtaining a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology. In the free time she loves to read all kinds of books, listen to music and hang out with her loved ones and dog. Outside of the lab you can find her with fellow members of Mu Epsilon Delta, at the gym, or relaxing and watching cartoons.

Emily Stephens (she/her) is a junior studying Psychology. She hopes to go to graduate school for clinical psychology and eventually receive her PhD. Her career goal is to become a psychologist who helps children dealing with mental health issues. In her spare time, Emily likes to read and hike.

Evangeline Barras is an undergraduate research assistant in the lab, and is interested in becoming a clinical psychologist. She is particularly interested in studying cognitive behavioral therapy and the brain-body relationship. After graduating in Spring 2027, she aspires to receive a doctorate in psychology, and possibly go into private practice. In her spare time Evangeline likes to go sailing, play tennis, and get ice cream with friends.

Stephanie Cummings (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate research assistant studying Psychology at Virginia Tech. She is interested in moral cognition, workplace dynamics, and the role of structure and leadership in shaping ethical behavior. Her work explores how systems of accountability, belonging, and recognition influence individual motivation and group culture. She hopes to pursue graduate study in Industrial–Organizational Psychology and apply research to real-world organizational development. Outside the lab, Stephanie enjoys being outside/fitness, doing any DIY art crafts, and mentoring peers through leadership roles in the Corps of Cadets.

Hannah Walker (she/her) is an undergraduate research assistant, a Psychology major and Sociology minor. She is planning to receive a PhD in clinical psychology and is incredibly excited to discover where exactly her specific research interests lie. When not in class or in the lab, she loves to crochet, play guitar, and go thrifting!

Anna Dubreuil is a junior studying Psychology and Statistics with a minor in Adaptive Brain and Behavior. She aspires to pursue a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and develop a career focused on anxiety disorders in adolescents. Her research interests center on understanding the psychological factors that shape youth mental health and using research to inform meaningful, evidence-based clinical interventions. Outside of academics and research, Anna enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and making specialty coffees.

Andria Papalabrakopoulos is a junior completing a dual degree in Psychology & Theatre Arts Performance with a minor in Adaptive Brain and Behavior. She is particularly interested in cognitive-behavioral therapy and in mental health. She hopes to go to graduate school for clinical psychology and become a psychologist to help children. Outside of the lab, Andria dedicates her time to ΑΨΩ (theatre frat), ΩΦΑ (service sorority), and RGL (Greek club). You can also catch her performing in plays!

Nadia Boggs is a senior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Adaptive Brain Behavior. Nadia holds a variety of interests within the psychology field, such as neuropsychology, nutritional rehabilitation, and psychology within the medical field. After her undergrad Nadia plans to pursue a post-baccalaureate program to deepen her understanding and experience within clinical Psychology. Nadia has a passion for mental health and the wellbeing of others, and hopes to pursue these passions as she progresses within the field. In her spare time Nadia enjoys being out in nature, expressing her creativity through fashion and modeling, as well as running and being an active member on the club cross country team.
